Doggy Daycare

What is Doggy Daycare?

Doggy daycare has many benefits. It builds confidence through supervised off-lead play, allowing them to socialise with a variety of dogs in a safe environment.

It can help improve separation anxiety and take the pressure off you as an owner knowing that while you are not able to be home with your dog that he or she is having a great time with their friends at daycare and not home bored or stressed.

Daycare allows your dog to burn off that never-ending energy with their new friends. Dogs are pack animals so being able to play off lead together is important for their social skills and manners but also allows them to be dogs.

Early enrolment into doggy daycare for puppies can help prevent dog reactivity, anxiety, and aggression towards other dogs.

Doggy daycare is for all ages shapes and sizes.

What do dog's need to do to come to Day-Care?

All dogs must pass a behavioural assessment before coming to day-care.

The assessment is where we introduce your dog to the other day-care dogs in a safe process. We will monitor your dog and their behavior throughout the assessment.

The assessment is done over 4hrs so the staff has adequate time to see your dog's natural temperament and if they are comfortable at Day-Care. It is vital all dogs that come to Day-care are cleared as safe to interact with other dogs, this is the reason for our strict process of assessing your dog.

- The cost of the assessment is $40

- You will have some paperwork to complete giving us all the important info about you and your dog.

- We will need to see your dogs up to date vaccination which must be C5

- All dogs must be up to date with flea, tick, and worming treatments.

- Our desexing policy is all dogs must be desexed by 12months or earlier if we recommend due to behavioural issues that may arise as they age. We understand that desexing your dog is a personal choice and if at the age we require them to be done and you aren't comfortable with this we respect that but unfortunately they will not be able to attend our Day Care any longer.

What Does Doggy Daycare Look Like?

A Day in the Life of a Dog at Daycare

Dogs start arriving from 7:00am they will be placed in their size and temperament suited play areas.

We have two indoor areas and two outside areas, this configuration changes throughout the day based on the dogs at day-care their personalities and play styles.

Once all morning dogs have arrived our super fun day begins

Our staff interact with your dog throughout the day, with games, general training, and basic agility.

We understand the importance of your dog having human interaction as well as making friends with their fellow dogs, so both are balanced to ensure your dog gets the most out of being with us at day-care.

Water play on hot days with our sprinkler pool, shell pools and hose play are always a crowd favourite.

Everything a dog could dream of.

We have bubble machines, sandpits, climbing equipment, cubby houses and toys in each area.

We are aware of over stimulation, which is why we have Meditation sessions, we move all dogs inside put on some relaxing music and encourage rest and nap time at least twice a day.

Dogs will be dogs – when they are happily playing and rumbling together, we supervise from the sideline and let them enjoy their new friends.

We don’t force any dog to play or interact until they are ready- Dogs who are at doggy day-care to build on their social skills are given extra cuddles and support to help them come out of their shells when they are ready to do so.

FAQ

What if my dog needs some space?

We have a time out pen away from the play areas for dogs who are needing some rest or need a place to calm down. This space allows them to be safely left to sleep on the comfy beds away from the other dogs but still in view of our staff.

Is it normal for my dog to be so tired or have the runs after starting day-care?

Yes, it Is normal.

The first couple times your dog attends day-care he/ she will come home very tired and lay around for a couple of days. This is normal. There is a lot of mental and physical stimulation during the day that your dog may not be used to.
Your dog may also have runny poos, this can happen after his/ her first visits to doggy day-care, it is very normal and often simply due to the excitement of the day.

How much does Day-Care cost?

There are a few price options for Day-Care according to the visits per week your dog comes. If you click on the BOOK NOW button it will display a list of options.

How old does my puppy have to be to attend daycare?

Puppies are able to attend daycare after they have had their first two sets of vaccinations.

Will my dog be given treats?

We believe in rewarding positive behaviour with all of our day-care dogs.
Treats are also used with basic training as well as teaching them in agility.
We only use natural treats but please make us aware if your dog is allergic to anything.

What vaccination doe's my dog require?

Under PIAA legislation all dog's require a C5 vaccination to attend a Day-care facility.
